An allergy assessment brings together clinical history, in-clinic skin prick testing, and laboratory blood tests to build a precise picture of your child's allergies. Test results are always interpreted in clinical context. A positive test does not automatically mean avoidance is needed.

What's included

  • Detailed clinical history (symptoms, reactions, diet, family history)
  • Skin prick testing to relevant foods and/or environmental allergens
  • Specific IgE blood tests where indicated
  • Written report with management recommendations
  • Advice on emergency medication (adrenaline auto-injector) if appropriate

*Blood test results are available in 3–5 working days.

Frequently asked questions

A positive skin prick test or elevated specific IgE means your child is sensitised to that allergen, but sensitisation does not always mean clinical allergy. Dr Sood interprets results alongside your child's history to determine whether true allergy is present.

Yes. Skin prick testing can be performed at any age, including in young infants. The technique is adapted for smaller children.
